We are seeking a highly skilled educator to join a supportive SEN secondary school in Oldham, working with pupils aged 11-16 who are working too lower GCSE levels.
About the Role:
As a Maths Teacher in this dynamic SEN school, you will be responsible for delivering tailored lessons that meet the unique needs of students with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges, and other learning difficulties. Your role will involve:
• Creating and delivering engaging Maths lessons that are accessible and stimulating for students with diverse learning needs.
• Adapting teaching strategies to support individual education plans (IEPs) and promote progress in Maths.
• Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, including SENCOs, teaching assistants, and therapists, to provide holistic support for each student.
• Monitoring and assessing student progress, maintaining comprehensive records to ensure all learners achieve their potential.
• Fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment, where students feel safe, respected, and motivated to learn.
Key Requirements:
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a strong background in Maths.
• Experience working with SEN students, particularly those with ASC, SEMH, and other complex needs.
• A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to teaching, with a strong commitment to supporting the emotional and educational development of SEN pupils.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents.
