Kandu's accredited alternative Education Provision programme and afterschool, and holiday engagement activities programmes provide a lifeline for young people who may otherwise lack access to enriching activities and for whom due to additional needs or life experiences, formal education settings are presently not appropriate.
Through grant funding, commissions, sponsorship and donations Kandu delivers a diverse range of services. This includes organisational consultancy, training, music, art, films, mentorship, and sports (events and participatory experiences) nurturing creativity personal and organisational growth among participants.
Kandu's reach extends far beyond traditional boundaries, encompassing partnerships with businesses, schools, social services, and decision-makers at local and national levels. By actively involving stakeholders from various sectors, Kandu fosters a sense of collective responsibility and mobilises resources to address systemic challenges.

Sustainable Business Consultancy
Through a range of workshops and team building activities, Kandu Arts has collaborated with other businesses to explore methods to define values through engaging with staff as well as the wider community.
Equipped with this knowledge, our team members can effectively educate, support and mentor others and serve as role models for best practices in mental health, parenting, and trauma-informed care.
Kandu is currently developing our music recording studio, a project aimed at creating a welcoming and inclusive space for musicians of all backgrounds and skill levels to rent out.
With increasing demand on Schools and social care around young people’s mental health and wider family issues, Kandu aims to further grow and expand the highly regarded alternative provision services to allow an opportunity for an increase in numbers of young people and their families to engage with this and wider community input.

Safeguarding Requirements
Kandu Arts are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
The successful applicant will be required to go through a robust vetting process e.g. they will be required to have an enhanced DBS check. There is strict staff behaviour policy.
Safeguarding requirements for this role is to be the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) for the organisation.
The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974
