The Opportunity We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Ecologist to join our growing team at Wild Capital. The position is permanent with opportunities to grow with the company. The position will be based out of Wimborne, Dorset with opportunities to travel around England to our national network of nature reserves. We’re a highly regarded mitigation provider of Biodiversity Net Gain units, Nutrient Neutrality credits and other environmental offsets. We have a reputation for delivering a high-quality products for our clients. The products we sell (environmental offsets) are driven by demand from developers which means that an impact is happening elsewhere which drives the need for our products. The role We are looking for an ecologist with a strong work ethic, a commercial mindset and hunger for knowledge to learn about the nature markets in which we operate. Initially the majority of the role will include client relationship, managing quotes and sales of our products with opportunities to expand into more senior roles with experience. Duties will include – Monitoring and responding to incoming requests for quotes; Reviewing biodiversity metrics; Client relationship and managing our sales and quotes database (excel based database); Administration of successful sales; Arranging quotes from 3rd party ecological consultants and managing contracts; Occasional travel to our nature reserves to deliver our environmental promises; You will be supervised and supported by a strong team to enable you to become independent, and empower you to learn and develop valuable skills for this emerging industry. Your skills Good written and verbal communication skills. A good understanding of ecology and wildlife legislation Proficient using MS Office Previous experience relating to nature markets are desirable. Previous experience relating to the development sector are desirable. But to enjoy your time at Wild Capital, you’ll also need to be personable, passionate, and proactive. We’re a friendly bunch but we do work hard. You’ll need to hold a full, valid UK driving licence as your role may involve you travelling to various sites across the country. We expect that the role will predominantly be based in our office in Wimborne.
