Integrated Care 24 (IC24) has a proud 25+ year history of providing high quality primary urgent care services. We have grown from a Kent GP co-operative to an NHS 111 and Integrated Urgent Care (IUC) service, meeting the needs of 6 million people in the south-east and east of England.
We are an independent, employee-owned social enterprise with the values of Innovation, Care, Excellence and Respect at our heart. Any surplus we make is reinvested to support improved patient experience. We were the first social enterprise in the UK to be awarded the prestigious Gold Mark status, which recognises excellence in a range of areas, such as governance and transparency. We are one of only five social enterprises in the UK to hold this award.
This is an exciting time for us. In addition to expanding our 111 service, we are investing in CLEO Systems, our healthcare ICT subsidiary, with aim of improving the effectiveness of the whole of the UK primary, secondary, urgent and emergency care sector. We also have a growing number of GP primary care practices joining us with a view to using the benefits of scale and innovation to drive improvement for patients.
We are seeking a new Non-Executive Director to join our Board with the confidence to chair our Finance and Audit sub-committees. You will be skilled in independent scrutiny, support, and challenge in financial governance, and able to gain and maintain the confidence of board colleagues, regulators and professional service providers that our financial plans and controls are sound, and our reporting is honest and compliant with regulation and standards.
The successful candidate will hold a recognised finance qualification and bring strong knowledge of corporate governance and financial assurance. We are also interested in finding someone with business growth, merger and acquisition knowledge. You will be an experienced board member within a private, public and/or VCSE setting. You will have demonstrated the ability to spot opportunities and encourage others to step out of their comfort zone. An understanding of the NHS regulatory environment will be useful, as would be experience of working in fast growth (ideally tech) environments.
Ultimately, what is most important to us are the behaviours and alignment with our values, and so we welcome applicants from a broad range of backgrounds who are passionate about working with a Board to assure and drive improvement in a complex and highly rewarding setting.
