Are you a qualified and certificated early childhood teacher looking for a part-time role, creating that much sought-after work-life balance?
The Cathedral Grammar Pre-School is a highly regarded preschool, situated within the grounds of the school, nestled between Cranmer Square and North Hagley Park.
Our unique connection to The Cathedral Grammar Primary School and the Christchurch Cathedral aligns our curriculum easily to the Principles of Te Whāriki.
Our learning programme is semi-structured and focuses on relationships, the environment, diversity, and individualised school readiness. We offer a wide range of additional experiences, such as PE, gymnastics, library visits, local community excursions, and art classes, providing rich opportunities for tamariki to deepen their understanding of the world.
We are looking for a qualified teacher to join our team who:
* is certified to work as an educator in New Zealand and holds (if appropriate) a current work visa.
* is confident in working within the principles of Te Whāriki and our centre’s unique approach to learning.
* can plan and implement an engaging learning environment that supports children’s identity, language, and culture, individually and as part of a team.
* is self-motivated and able to work well as part of a team but is also confident to work independently.
* is confident to build respectful, professional partnerships with whānau and colleagues and is keen to connect with the team out of hours occasionally.
This role would suit someone who has recently graduated or someone who is looking to work school hours.
22.5 hours per week across 4 days (this includes staff meeting). A job description is available on request.
What we offer:
* Extended pay parity
* Excellent release time
* 3-week Christmas break and additional closed days beyond public holidays
* Flexibility around school holiday leave
* A supportive, collaborative team and large learning environment
* Opportunities for involvement in extracurricular and community-based experiences
* On-site car parking
