CREDIT MANAGER - REGISTER YOUR INTEREST
Location: Manchester or Nottingham
This advert is a general Credit Manager role at L'Oréal. We are interested in a range of seniority whether that be Specialist, Manager, or Senior
L'Oréal, a global leader in beauty, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Credit Specialist to join our dynamic Credit Management team. This role will be key in ensuring the timely collection of outstanding payments, maintaining strong relationships with our customers, and contributing to the overall financial health of the business. At L'Oréal, we offer a challenging yet supportive environment where innovation and collaboration are highly valued. We are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace where everyone feels valued and empowered to reach their full potential.
A Credit Specialist will be responsible for managing the credit control process for a designated portfolio of customers. This includes proactively monitoring outstanding invoices, chasing overdue payments, resolving queries, and identifying and mitigating credit risks. The role requires strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills, as well as a proactive and results-oriented approach.
A Day in the Life of a L’Oréal Credit Specialist
The life of a L'Oréal Credit Specialist is anything but static. It's a dynamic role requiring a diverse skill set – a keen analytical mind, strong relationship management abilities, and a genuine appreciation for the nuances of the beauty industry. While each day brings unique challenges, a typical day offers a glimpse into this multifaceted world:
Connecting and Responding: A significant portion of the day involves managing communication. Responding to a constant stream of emails and calls is paramount. This might entail addressing questions from L'Oréal's Commercial teams about credit limits for prospective clients, resolving payment disagreements with current customers, or keeping internal stakeholders informed about account performance. This constant communication ensures the smooth flow of information and helps maintain strong relationships both internally and externally.
Analysing and Assessing: Beyond immediate communication, the Credit Specialist dives deep into data analysis. Examining account performance data is crucial for identifying trends, potential problems (like late payments or growing days sales outstanding), and any red flags needing immediate attention. This analytical work often translates into creating reports and presentations that summarize key findings and highlight potential risks to senior management, enabling data-driven decision-making.
Communicating with Care: A crucial aspect of the role involves direct communication with customers. For instance, a Credit Specialist might need to contact a customer with an overdue payment. This requires a delicate balance: a friendly yet firm approach to understand the situation, negotiate a payment plan, and ultimately ensure timely payment while preserving the client relationship. Tact and diplomacy are essential skills for navigating these potentially sensitive conversations.
In essence, the L'Oréal Credit Specialist acts as a financial guardian, balancing the need to protect the company's assets with the imperative to support sales and nurture client relationships within the vibrant and ever-evolving beauty industry.
