Working in the NHS Cancer Programme, you will help set the agenda for cancer care in England. Our goal is to diagnose cancer earlier, help more people survive it, and improve their quality of life and experience of care. We work with people affected by cancer, clinicians, charities, Regions, Cancer Alliances, and trusts, and develop national policy and strategy to transform services for people across the country.
Our work has been reshaping the experience of cancer patients across England and the NHS Long Term Plan gives us the chance to go even further. You will be instrumental in delivering our ambition to improve cancer outcomes.
The Cancer Programme Team takes its responsibility to promote equality and diversity seriously. We respect colleagues from different backgrounds and embrace different cultural preferences in everything we do.
We expect to shortlist and interview for this role in January 2025.
As a Project Manager for the Policy and Strategy team, you will work as part of an exciting, cross-cutting team within the NHS Cancer Programme. The Policy and Strategy team sets the overall direction for cancer strategy and policy across NHS England. We have a broad remit for strategic policy development and implementing key strategic projects to support our ambitions on improved outcomes, from activities to support workforce and capacity to developing and testing new interventions to help find more cancers at an early stage within primary care.
The postholder will play a key role in delivery of strategic policy projects across the Policy and Strategy team, supporting policy development and working with colleagues across the NHS, including Cancer Alliances, on a range of initiatives aimed at improving outcomes for people with cancer.
If you have strong project management skills and are looking for a role to develop your policy skills, working in a fast-paced environment at the heart of NHS policy and decision-making and have a strong commitment to diversity and equality, we would love to hear from you.
