The purpose of your role Police Now is seeking an Academy Coordinator to work as part of the Programmes Team to support in the delivery of the National Detective Programme (NDP) and National Graduate Leadership (NGLP) Programmes. The Academy Coordinator will have a unique role, focusing on academy delivery across both programmes, being responsible for elements of the end-to-end project management, project support and operational delivery of Police Now s programme delivery. The ideal candidate will be highly organised with the ability to complete tasks efficiently and thoroughly, while ensuring no detail is overlooked. This role will provide the unique opportunity to be involved in further development of our programmes on a national scale, ensuring that they genuinely deliver the highest quality of leadership progression and enable participants to have a real impact in our communities. Key responsibilities Take ownership and effectively deliver, numerous work strands, workstreams and tasks against project deadlines for the Police Now s programmes to the highest standard. Take ownership of elements of academy and programme administration e.g. Managing participant data and keeping Salesforce up to date. Work closely with the programmes team on with the management and administration of internal and external communication channels, including both syndicate lead and participant communications, Police Now online platforms and staff communications. Take responsibility for tracking elements of the academy budget on your projects and supporting the wider team, processing invoices, credit card reconciliation and expenses. Manage the travel and expenses platforms, oversee travel queries and manage on/offsite accommodation arrangements for participants and Syndicate Leads (seconded police officers) as required. Manage the sourcing, delivery and distribution of necessary equipment and resources e.g. Preparing event printed materials, facilitating the delivery of participant uniform, academy resources. Provide administrative support to the programmes team, including but not limited to managing the inboxes, preparing documentation, record keeping, booking and taking minutes for meetings as required. Assist with work strands and tasks related to programme events which fall within the contracted period Impact Events, Module Launch Days and Graduations these occasionally require travel and staying on site for 1 night. Attend and support the academy team on site - travel costs, hotel style accommodation and all meals are provided when on site. The National Detective programme is approx. 9 weeks residential academy, across 4 months. The National Graduate Leadership programme is approx. 5 weeks residential academy across 2 months. Key Requirements A positive can-do attitude and flexibility, being able to work comfortably within challenging timescales, shifting priorities and managing ambiguity. Lots of energy and enthusiasm, to see you through when activity spikes at various points during the year. Recent experience of supporting complex projects or events. Strong organisation, prioritisation and administrative skills with outstanding attention to detail and the ability to work independently. Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to plan and deliver clear communication plans. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with a range of stakeholders both internal and external. Great problem-solving skills and the ability to foresee, manage and mitigate risk. Excellent IT skills, preferably with an advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Willingness to travel within England and Wales and to work occasional weekends and evenings as required for the successful delivery of the programmes. Willingness to be away from home for the working week during the delivery phases of residential academy training and/or events. Willingness to forego holidays during Academy time where necessary in favour of annual leave at other times of the year. An ability to spend time away from home for delivery periods, including extensive periods on residential training during Academy. A maximum of 14 weeks residential academy, across March-September.
