JOB PURPOSE
The purpose of this role is to provide preventative (planned), responsive, and emergency maintenance to support the upkeep of The Brick properties, charity shops, bike workshop, offices, equipment, furniture, and fittings.
DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:
1. Inspection, maintenance, and repair of premises, fixtures, fittings, and furniture to ensure correct working conditions.
2. Liaise with any contractors on site.
3. Advise the Line Manager of any maintenance problems which might affect the efficient running of any property.
4. Specify and order materials and equipment through the Line Manager when required.
5. Emergency Maintenance.
6. The successful completion of maintenance request tasks, necessary updates, and the closure of completed requests.
7. Fixing faults on site or arranging for replacement equipment to be installed through the Line Manager.
8. To undertake any other duties that may reasonably be requested by the Line Manager, appropriate to the grade, including but not limited to: Unblocking drains, Mastic Seal Replacement, Decorations, Washer Replacement, Cleaning Ventilation Fans.
9. Ensuring H&S practices are compliant by wearing the appropriate protective clothing against chemicals, noise, etc., and that the postholder and other staff are carrying out operations in accordance with The Brick’s policy and safe working practices.
10. To notify the Line Manager of accidents, hazards, or any other concerns relating to Health & Safety and safe working practices.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Suitable candidate should have:
1. Wide knowledge of all aspects of building maintenance including carpentry, painting and decorating, plumbing, and electrical works.
2. Numerate and literate.
3. Clean driving licence.
4. City and Guilds craft certificate in a construction trade, or a Level 2 NVQ Diploma in a relevant trade or in multi-trade building maintenance operations.
5. IT literate.
Experience Required
1. Proven experience in a similar role.
2. Working at heights and in confined spaces.
3. Basic record keeping, manual and electronic.
4. Ability to follow planned maintenance schedules and instructions.
5. Experience of working with vulnerable adults is an advantage.

The post holder will be expected to:
1. Perform any other duties consistent with the broad objectives of the post.

3. Attend and be an active participant in team meetings, training, and other internal meetings.
4. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislation, national and local policies, procedures, recommendations, and guidelines.
5. Take responsibility for ensuring that legal obligations regarding information processed for both mentors and staff are kept accurate, confidential, secure, and in line with the Data Protection Act (1998).
