South Tynesideand Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust is looking to recruit a motivated andpassionate consultant paediatrician. The post is a substantive post. This post will be based in the paediatricdepartment of South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS foundation trust. Thepostholder will work as an integral member of the Neurodisability team andcontribute to service developments.
The Directorateof Paediatrics offers service across Sunderland and South Tyneside and includesneonatology, general paediatrics, community paediatrics as well as paediatricemergency medicine.
Timetablesoffer a degree of flexibility in that the type of clinic activity is negotiableas allowed by service needs and the experience and skills of the successfulpostholder.

Main duties of the job
Applicants will be expected to have, or to obtain within 6 months of interview, a CCT in Paediatrics or equivalent (and/or to be included on the GMC's Specialist Register or be eligible for inclusion).

The postholderwill join the existing team of Disability Consultants, Associate Specialistsand specialist nurses.
Overallresponsibilities include contributing to the co-ordination and delivery of thestrategic and operational aspects of the service across the South Tyneside andSunderland area. These will reflect national and local priorities including thestrategic direction of South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust andthe Division of Family Care.
Final job planswill be agreed in discussion between the successful candidates and the ClinicalDirector and will be subject to Annual Review.

Qualifications

8. Hold a CCST or CCT in Paediatrics and be on the GMCs Specialist Register, or be within 6 months of being admitted to the GMCs Specialist Register.
9. Membership of RCPCH.
Desirable
10. Have been involved in academic research as part of their training and have both presented and published peer reviewed articles.
11. Possess further qualifications in teaching or educational supervision.
Experience
Essential
12. ND grid training or relevant and recent experience of ND work.
Desirable
13. Have experience in the development of a multidisciplinary group for clinical service provision.
