Kington St Michael CE Primary School is a happy and popular school in an attractive rural setting, where expectations are high and the school atmosphere, welcoming and calm. We are a small school, with 135 children on roll. We were recently inspected by OFSTED in February 2025, gaining good and outstanding outcomes. We also received a wonderful inspection report during our visit from SIAMS in 2024.
The school currently has 135 children on roll organised in the following classes:
Blackbirds: Reception
Sparrows: Year 1 and Year 2
Eagles: Year 2 and Year 3
Kingfishers: Year 4 and Year 5
Hawks: Year 5 and Year 6
Pupils are polite and courteous. They confidently hold conversations with adults. Staff know the pupils for the individuals they are. Relationships are positive across the school. We currently have 8 dedicated teachers, who are supported by our wonderful and highly experienced teaching assistants. We have an experienced SENCO and KSM is a lovely school to work in. The school has 5 classrooms, a hall, lovely library and ELSA room, a large staffroom and comfortable admin offices, with views over our well maintained grounds. Outside we benefit from a lovely playground, a large playing field, forest school area, a trim trail, growing area, wild flower meadow and an pond.
All About the Role:
We are seeking a committed and dynamic team player who is able to work flexibly and confidently across finance, administration, HR and health & safety. Previous experience in schools, ideally as a School Business Manager is desirable and a relevant qualifications and/or experience in finance is essential.
The successful applicant will be an important part of our school community, a member of our senior leadership team and will work closely with our governors who are responsible for overseeing each of these functions in school. The School Business Manager, will attend the Finance Committee meeting termly and present various reports covering budget monitoring, premises, H&S, wraparound care and other income generating activities. The successful candidate will support our vision of Learning together, Aiming high.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
