In this SEN Learning Support role, you’ll work closely with the teacher and support team to help students feel confident, communicate better, and enjoy learning. You’ll give them the extra help they need to do their best in class and feel proud of what they can achieve.Top of Form Bottom of Form Key Responsibilities: Deliver 1:1 and small group interventions to support pupils with a range of SEN. Adapt learning activities to meet the individual needs of students. Support emotional regulation and behaviour management using positive strategies. Contribute to the creation of an inclusive and respectful classroom environment. Collaborate with staff and families to ensure consistent and effective support. Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching staff and SEN leadership. Job Requirements: A recognised qualification in education, childcare, or special educational needs (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, NVQ in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent). Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEN in an educational setting. An understanding of different learning difficulties and the strategies used to support them. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff and parents. A patient, adaptable and proactive approach to working with children who have additional needs. Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and best practices within an educational setting. Understanding of various Special Education Needs conditions, including autism and ADHD etc. Have an updated CV ( covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps ) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
