Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a capable and enthusiastic Administrative Assistant to join the Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) Safeguarding Team. Integral to the smooth running of the department, you will provide a comprehensive, high quality and efficient administrative service to the Team.
Main duties of the job
The post holder should have strong organisational skills, be an effective communicator and be able to work with their own initiative and as part of a team. This is a challenging and rewarding role in which you will be ideally placed to enhance your administrative skills.
With sufficient experience in an administrative/secretarial role, you will have a good standard of education and a working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite. Proactive, flexible and organised, you must have the ability to work to tight timescales and keep a calm head under pressure. You will be familiar with data protection issues and patient confidentiality.
An understanding of safeguarding would be advantageous.

Qualifications
* Good standard of education at ‘A’ level or City and Guilds or National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level 3.
* ECDL/ITQ
Knowledge and Experience
* Previous experience within an office/administration environment.
* Good knowledge of Microsoft Office package.
* Experience in the use of databases.
* Experience of maintaining robust filing systems (paper and electronic).
* Understanding of the importance of maintaining confidentiality, data protection.
* Experience of formal minute taking.
* Previous experience within a healthcare setting.
* Knowledge of EMIS and/or Child Health.
* Previous experience of supervising junior staff.
