BWS is seeking a skilled Contracts Engineer EPSCC Services to join our team on-site in London, UK (up to 12 months) followed by the EPSCC location in Europe. The job holder is responsible to: • As a general manner, to administer all contractual and commercial activities related to the EPSCC Contract,up to close-out, in the frame and with respect to procedural obligations as per Agreements with Ugandan Authorities, Decrees and Laws in force, Partners Agreement and in strict compliance of delegation of authorities and associated Contract and Procurement procedures. • Ensure consistency & adequacy of documents such as Performance Bonds, Bank Guarantees, Invoices, Insurance certificates, Sub-contracts, Confidentiality Undertakings • Preparation of official correspondence with Contractor • Attendance to monthly (routine) meetings with Contractors as required. • Assistance to the negotiation of Change Orders on contractual and commercial aspects • Assists the Company Contract Representatives in the timely issuance of interim and final certificates. • Be open to receive contractor/supplier representatives and proactively build and maintain relationships with contractors/suppliers in order to secure positive, constructive and cost-effective commercial agreements for the Project. General • Assist the team in complying with Ugandan Law on aspects related to the Procurement processes. • To adopt and demonstrate exemplary behavior with regard H3SE and H3SE rules implementation. • To adopt and demonstrate exemplary behavior with regard to ethics and project “code of conduct” policy • To participate to meetings with partners, authorities and other stakeholders as required. To carry out any other duties or tasks that may be required by the position. Requirements Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Law, Commercial or Engineering, ideally with a post-graduate qualification in a complementary discipline. 15 years’ practical, relevant and progressive experience in preparation, negotiation, monitoring of complex technical contracts in the onshore and offshore oil or petrochemical industries. International project experience. In depth knowledge and understanding of different means of contractor remuneration and their commercial implications, practical experience of their use. Construction and civil works and experience with FIDIC contracts a plus. Knowledge and understanding of project services and contract processes including management, amendment & close out of contracts. Demonstrable general knowledge & understanding of project control, commercial, legal and insurance issues affecting the Company in general. Basic understanding of the technical domain in which the Project operates. Good interpersonal, communication, managerial & organizational skills, capabilities to take workload & work under pressure, able to work in a multicultural environment. Take proper actions & decisions to respect targets, including reporting to his/her manager. Ability to adapt & to represent the Company in discussions / negotiations with Contractors. Ability and willingness to effectively and robustly challenge the views of contractors, suppliers and internal contact, and negotiate reasonable settlements whilst maintaining good relationships and sharing expertise and knowledge as appropriate. English as mother tongue or Fluent in English (speaking and writing). All candidates must have the right to work in the UK and EU – Visa sponsorship is not available.
