We are looking for Mental Health Nurses to join our Trust.
This is an exciting opportunity for a Registered Mental Health Nurse to work full time on Wren Ward in our brand new Carsington Unit on our Kingsway Hospital, Derby, site.
This is an exciting time to work for Derbyshire Healthcare. Carsington Unit is a purpose-built 54-bed unit which is due to open in early 2025. The new facilities will improve safety, privacy and dignity for our adult acute mental health patients by providing en-suite accommodation in single rooms.
Wren Ward is a new 18-bed Male Working Age Adult Acute Ward, based at our new Carsington Unit in Derby.
Wren Ward will focus on therapeutic interventions and deliver care to national recommendations.
This is a great opportunity for you to support shaping the service and build the team along with the Ward Manager and other senior leaders. You will work alongside others to establish and develop this new ward for Derbyshire and collaborate with an innovative and forward-thinking programme team and senior leaders.
Main duties of the job
You will:
1. Work as part of a team responsible for the delivery of patient/client-centred care.
2. Promote and support service user and carer involvement; autonomy and choices are an integral part of the philosophy of the Trust.
3. Respond to the needs of people in an honest, non-judgmental and open manner which respects the rights of individuals and groups.
4. Work closely with colleagues to ensure clinical services are delivered to the highest standard and in accordance with the most recent evidence-based guidance.
5. As a registered nurse, be personally accountable for your professional practice that will be delivered in accordance with the legal and professional responsibilities outlined by the NMC.
6. Ensure services are provided in a safe and supportive environment and at all times adopt a professional approach to your work promoting a positive image to service users/carers and the general public.
7. Always act in a way which reflects both the word and spirit of the Trust's values.

Qualifications
* NMC Registration
* Educated to Diploma Level (or willing to work towards)
* Evidence of up to date Personal Development Plan, Professional Portfolio
Skills
* Demonstrate a good awareness of the Mental Health Act and other legislation relevant to the service area
* Demonstrate the development of post registration clinical competence
* Demonstrate knowledge and awareness of professional accountability and codes of conduct and their application in practice.
