Join Our Dynamic Team as Head of Function for Reducing Reoffending at HMP Millsike!
Are you ready to make a real difference? We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to take on the exciting role of Head of Function for Reducing Reoffending at HMP Millsike. In this pivotal position, you'll ensure we meet contractual obligations, uphold company policies, and adhere to HMPPS standards, leading a multi-disciplinary team to deliver vital services.
As the driving force behind our Offender Management Unit, you'll oversee case management, Keyworker activities, Resettlement requirements, and psychological interventions. You'll take charge of strategic performance, collaborating with our valued partners—including the Forward Trust and the Probation Service—to enhance our services aimed at reducing reoffending.
You'll also engage with People Plus, our Education Skills and Work provider, ensuring excellence in RoTL placements and resettlement provisions. As the Duty Director, your leadership will guide our vibrant department, where you'll ensure prisoners' needs are met in custody and upon release. Your oversight will extend to external service providers, guaranteeing an outstanding quality of service for those in our care.
In this role, you will lead, motivate, and develop a dedicated team of Senior Staff, fostering a safe, secure, and rehabilitative environment that promotes a culture of restoration for both staff and prisoners.
What We're Looking For:
We're on the hunt for a candidate with essential experience in prisons custodial or secure environments, along with a background in Offender Management or case management. You'll need proven managerial expertise, leading a team of 5 to 15 staff, and intermediate IT skills, especially in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook, as well as experience in maintaining central data systems.
Preferred candidates must have a strong grasp of prison legislation, policies, standards, and audit processes, alongside knowledge of the broader criminal justice landscape. If you have completed Silver command training or are eager to do so, as well as incident and hostage management training, we want to hear from you!
We encourage applications from individuals with qualifications or relevant experience equivalent to Level 3 or above, including A levels, Advanced Apprenticeships, or Level 3 NVQ accreditations.
