A typical day in the life of a Food & Beverage Assistant Manager: Assist the Food and Beverage Manager in the day-to-day management of F&B outlets, including restaurants, cafes, bars, and event spaces. Ensure smooth service delivery and that all operations run efficiently. Lead and supervise the F&B team, including scheduling, training, and performance management. Motivate and develop team members to achieve high levels of service quality and operational standards. Ensure that all guests receive excellent service, consistently monitoring customer feedback and responding to complaints or issues effectively to maintain high satisfaction levels. Assist in managing departmental budgets, controlling costs, and maximising profitability. Monitor daily financial performance, including sales, labour costs, and expenses, and provide regular reports to the Food and Beverage Manager. Oversee stock levels, inventory control, and ordering processes. Work with suppliers to maintain the quality of food and beverage products while minimising waste and managing costs. Ensure that all food and beverages are presented and served to Bannatyne's quality standards. Conduct regular checks on food safety, hygiene, and health and safety compliance. Support the planning and execution of promotional activities, seasonal events, and menu changes. Work closely with the marketing team to drive sales and enhance customer engagement. Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene. Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, including conducting risk assessments and maintaining required documentation. Assist in preparing regular reports on operational performance, customer satisfaction, sales, and other key metrics. Analyse data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions. Work closely with other departments such as Membership, Sales, and Fitness to deliver a seamless club-wide experience for members and guests. Ensuring consistently meet or exceed key performance indicators (KPI's), such as sales targets, customer satisfaction scores, and operational efficiency, will qualify the F&B Assistant Manager for a performance-based bonus. Required to support the Club and work Duty Management shifts. This will require being responsible for the club during these shifts. What we are looking for: Proven experience in a supervisory or assistant management role within the hospitality, leisure, or food and beverage industry. L2 Food Safety and Hygiene Certificate. Proven track record of delivering excellent customer service and managing a successful F&B operation. Knowledge of food safety regulations and health and safety standards; certifications in food safety or health and safety are advantageous. Experience in financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control. Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems and restaurant management software. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, train, and develop a team to achieve operational excellence. Passion for delivering exceptional customer service and enhancing the guest experience. Understanding of budgeting, financial reporting, and cost control within a food and beverage environment. Knowledge of food and beverage operations, including inventory management, stock control, food safety, and health and safety regulations. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with members, guests, and colleagues. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make decisions quickly and effectively in a dynamic environment. Strong organisational and multitasking abilities to manage multiple priorities and tasks simultaneously. Familiarity with marketing strategies, promotions, and event management to drive sales and member engagement. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
