Broxburn Primary School is non-denominational and serves the community of Broxburn. It is part of the Broxburn Academy Cluster. The school roll is with pupils being organised into fourteen classes (P1-7) and 86 children in our Early Learning Centre. Our staffing includes the Head Teacher, Depute Head Teacher, 2 x Principal Teacher, 21 teachers, 5 PSWs and 9 ELC Practitioners. The school office is staffed by an administrative assistant and a clerical assistant.
We are seeking a ELC Practitioner to work within our ELC setting. You will be available to work a weekly shift pattern across the opening hours/ 50 weeks per year. You will be part of the ELC team line managed by two Early Years Officers and a Depute Head Teacher, alongside an Early Years Childcare Area Support Manager during school holidays. You will be joining a hardworking and committed staff team.
In consultation with the Senior Leadership Team, the ELC practitioner will:
1. Provide a service compatible with good practice in the education and care of children within the policies and systems determined by West Lothian Council Education Department and the Care Commission.
2. Deliver high quality learning experiences for all children within their ELC setting.
3. Work as an effective member of a multi -disciplinary or other team promoting a stimulating environment which balances education and care for children.
4. Meet children’s individual needs and those of their families, enabling each individual to achieve their potential.
5. Work as a team to deliver the Early Years curriculum within the ELC setting in partnership with staff, parents/carers and other appropriate professionals.
