Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant Location: South East England, Surrey, Croydon Job Type: Contract, Full-Time hours Primary Industry: Education and Training Salary: £85 - £95 Per day Job Description Job Duties: The SEN Teaching Assistant will support the educational and personal development of students with special educational needs (SEN). Duties include assisting in the implementation of individual education plans, providing one-to-one support, monitoring progress, and helping with classroom activities. The role involves working closely with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure the well-being and progress of SEN students. Required Qualifications: - A relevant qualification in education or special educational needs - Experience working with children or young people with SEN - Strong communication and interpersonal skills - Ability to work effectively as part of a team - Understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies Education: A minimum of a Level 3 qualification in education or a related field is required for this role. Experience: Previous experience working in a similar role within an educational setting is essential. Knowledge and Skills: - Knowledge of SEN support strategies and techniques - Ability to adapt teaching approaches to meet individual student needs - Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask - Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards supporting SEN students Preferred Qualifications: - Additional qualifications in SEN education or related areas - Training in behaviour management and de-escalation techniques Working Conditions: The role of SEN Teaching Assistant is based in a school setting in Croydon, Surrey. The position involves working full-time hours on a contract basis. The work may require flexibility in supporting students both in and out of the classroom environment.
