We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a dynamic team at our partner school in Lambeth.
The successful candidate will assist the classroom teacher in delivering high-quality educational experiences, managing classroom behavior, and providing personalised learning support to students.
This role requires previous experience in a classroom setting, proficiency in 1:1 student support, and a creative approach to differential learning.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist the classroom teacher in preparing and delivering lessons, ensuring all students are engaged and supported.
2. Manage classroom behavior effectively, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
3. Provide 1:1 support to students with additional learning needs, tailoring assistance to their individual requirements.
4. Support the implementation of creative and differentiated learning activities to cater to diverse student abilities and learning styles.
5. Help with the assessment and tracking of student progress, providing feedback to the teacher and contributing to student development plans.
6. Supervise students during break times, educational trips, and other school activities as required.
7. Assist with the preparation of teaching materials and classroom resources.
8. Collaborate with other teaching assistants and staff to ensure a cohesive approach to student support.
9. Maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment, adhering to school policies and procedures.
10. Undertake any other duties as directed by the classroom teacher or school leadership team.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Previous experience working in a classroom setting is essential.
2. Strong skills in behavior management and learning support.
3. Ability to provide effective 1:1 support to students.
4. Creative approach to differential learning, adapting teaching methods to suit individual student abilities.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
6. A valid DBS check or willingness to obtain one.
7. Reliable, patient, and enthusiastic with a genuine passion for supporting student learning and development.
