West Midlands Police is seeking a passionate and skilled Drug Examination and Reporting Officer to join our newly established Drug Examination Team. This is your chance to be at the forefront of identifying and quantifying suspected controlled substances, contributing to police investigations. About the Role As a key member of our team, you will: Deliver a high-quality drug identification service, managing and prioritising submission workloads. Develop tailored casework strategies and co-ordinate rapid drug testing for remand purposes. Assist in the development of new techniques and ways of working, enabling the department to meet its accreditation objectives, ensuring it remains at the forefront of innovation whilst upholding high-quality standards. Collaborate with Police Investigation Teams to support their operations. Undertake the examination and analysis of forensic exhibits with precision and accuracy. Participate in annual competency tests, audits, and validation processes to maintain professional standards.
