History Graduate Cover Supervisor – Full-Time Role
Location: Stockport
Contract: Full-time, starting ASAP until the end of the academic year
Pay: £419.25 - £500 per week
Teaching Personnel is pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for a History Graduate to join a highly regarded secondary school in Stockport. Rated Good by Ofsted, this school is looking for an enthusiastic and confident individual to work as a Cover Supervisor in the Humanities department. This role is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates considering a career in teaching or those with experience working with young people.
As a History Graduate Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing classrooms and supervising students in the absence of teaching staff. While you won’t be required to plan or mark work, you will deliver pre-prepared lesson materials and ensure that students remain focused and engaged. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable classroom experience and develop essential skills for a career in education.
Key responsibilities include:
* Supervising lessons across the school, particularly within the Humanities department, and delivering pre-set work.
* Managing student behaviour in accordance with the school’s policies.
* Supporting students in their learning and addressing any immediate questions or issues.
* Ensuring a positive and respectful classroom environment.
* Reporting back to teaching staff on lesson progress and any incidents that occur.
We are seeking someone who:
* Holds a degree in History or a related subject.
* Is passionate about education and working with young people.
* Can effectively manage classroom behaviour and promote a positive learning atmosphere.
* Is reliable, adaptable, and able to build strong relationships with students and staff.
* Has experience working with young people (in a school setting or other capacity), although full training will be provided for those new to this type of role.
