Are you an experienced Counsellor, Counselling Psychologist or Social Worker with strong leadership skills and a passion for developing and delivering exceptional services to palliative care patients and their loved ones?
We are an independent local charity based in Bosham, Chichester, offering a wide range of services to support our patients, and their loved ones, who are living with a life limiting or terminal illness.
The work we do makes a real difference to the lives of local people and we provide psychosocial services to over 300 people per year.
Leading at St Wilfrids
This role leads and develops our psychosocial services, which are delivered by a dedicated team of employees and volunteers across counselling, social work, chaplaincy and bereavement support. You will also use your clinical skills to work with your own caseload of patients and their loved ones at the Hospice and in the community.

Job responsibilities
JOBPURPOSE
To be a source of highly specialistpsychosocial expertise; providing specialist guidance and support topsychosocial colleagues and the multidisciplinary palliative care team andmanaging a small caseload of complex palliative care cases.
To provide senior leadership andoperational management to the multidisciplinary Family Support Team, ensuringthe highest quality social work, spiritual support, counselling and bereavementprovision that is safe, caring, responsive, effective and well led.
To lead on user involvement andengagement to ensure hospice services are truly person-centred and tailored tothe needs of our local community as well as individual recipients of oursupport and care.
To work inpartnership with the Director of Clinical Services to actively identify andcreate opportunities to develop Family Support Team in the pursuit of wideningaccess and optimising quality of life for palliative patients and their lovedones, in line with the Hospice vision and strategic plan.
Person Specification
Experience
Essential
1. Proven specialist psychosocial skills, knowledge and evidence-based practice with direct or transferable application to palliative care
2. Experience of facilitating group activities
3. Experience of robust service evaluation including the use of outcome measures
4. Experience of leading a therapeutic service
Desirable
5. Experience of leading a multidisciplinary team
6. Experience with patient electronic records such as SystmOne
7. Knowledge of OACC Palliative Care Outcome Measures
Qualifications
Essential
8. Level 4/5 Diploma / Level 6 Degree in Counselling or Counselling Psychology
9. Registered with a relevant membership body
Desirable
10. Masters degree or evidence of working at masters level
11. Post Graduate Palliative and/or end of life care qualification
12. Advanced Communication Skills (End of life care) training
