The Medical Day Case Unit here at Chesterfield Royal is looking for a dynamic, forward-thinking Care Support Worker to join our fabulous nursing team.
As a Care Support Worker on the unit, you will support the nursing team, enabling them to offer the best care to our patients. You will also support the patients attending the unit, ensuring that the best care is given whilst they are with us.
The hours are 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday; part-time would be considered dependent on the number of hours required.
The post holder will support the team on the Medical Day Case Unit to provide excellent care to patients who attend the unit. You will be responsible for welcoming patients into the unit and supporting their holistic needs during their time on the unit, observation monitoring, and recording, and undertaking venepuncture and cannulation when required.

Responsibilities include:
1. Demonstrating a caring approach to patients, relatives, and work so that a patient’s dignity and respect is always maintained.
2. Acting in line with the Trust’s CARE values.
3. Maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
4. Actively participating in the staff appraisal process.
5. Being familiar with relevant Operational, Personnel, Health and Safety Policies and procedures, including Fire, COSHH, No Smoking, and Alcohol.
6. Actively helping the Trust prevent and control infection by washing hands effectively, carrying out duties in a way that minimises infection, attending appropriate training, and maintaining up-to-date knowledge and skills in infection control and prevention as relevant to the post.
