The Enforcement Delivery Branch, part of the Local Authority Delivery Division, supports Local Authority enforcement of food law through direct engagement with Environmental Health colleagues, provision of expert advice, and producing enforcement guidance.
This Enforcement Manager role within the Enforcement Delivery team, reporting to a Senior Enforcement Manager, plays a key part in delivering the branch business plan and the organisation's Corporate Plan. The role supports a strategic programme focused on official controls in approved establishments and registered food businesses.
Responsibilities
Support the delivery of key projects in areas such as the food safety and standards, food law delivery systems, Scottish National Database, approved establishments, allergens and hypersensitivities, primary production and novel foods.
Manage a diverse portfolio of work across the food law delivery landscape by communicating with Local Authorities, FSA, and other government departments.
Work with other project managers across the Enforcement Delivery team and throughout Food Standards Scotland to ensure a collaborative approach to delivery.
Provide general support within the team as required in relation to the delivery of the monthly enforcement report publication and other communication to Local Authorities and stakeholders.
Oversee the management of the Enforcement Delivery resources including Local Authority guidance and Food Business Resources including CookSafe, ButherSafe, RetailSafe and MenuCal.
Provide support to the Scottish Food Crime and Incidents Unit in the event of an incident and take part in, emergency exercises related to testing FSS readiness in this area.

Direct experience working in or regulating the food sector. This may include food safety, product development, official control activities or auditing food businesses.
