We are currently recruiting for a Catering Assistant to join our Catering and Hospitality Team working in our staff restaurant. Our catering and hospitality team provide a fully catered service this includes hot cooked meal options, cooked breakfast, sandwiches, pastries and snack options to our employees, visitors and customers at our sites in Trowbridge. The post holder will be responsible for assisting the team to ensure that we provide a daily service of breakfast, lunch, dinner, and late-night supper to our employees. The role will include food preparation, kitchen and front of house service and duties. Hours of Work; Monday - 6:30-13:30 Tuesday,Wednesday,Thursday - 9:00- 13:30 and Friday 6:30-14:00 28 Hours per week. Day to Day: Prepare, cook and present food to a high standard. Serve food to customers with a high degree of customer service. Beverage and Food preparation for delivery for internal meetings and functions Sort, clear, stack and wash all crockery, cutlery and food trollies. Filling and cleaning the vending machines. Putting away deliveries and ensuring stock rotation. Staff restaurant seating area is always kept clean and tidy. Adhering to all compliance and best practice processes in place in respect of food hygiene, health and safety and environmental matters such as minimizing food waste. Ensure that the facilities are cleaned and maintained to a high standard at all times. Completing day to day administration i.e. temperature checks. To undertake any other duties that are commensurate with the role. Essential: Knowledge and experience in food preparation, cooking and service. Knowledge and experience of delivering excellence in customer care and service, particularly front of house customer care. Previous catering experience. Experience of working as part of a team. Good knowledge of health and safety within a catering environment. Desirable: Certificate in food safety. NVQ in professional cookery. Personal Qualities: Good communication skills. Ability to prioritise, manage time and meet deadlines. Work as part of a team. Flexible and willing to carry out duties which become necessary when required. Passion for good quality food and service. A strong commitment to the ethos and values of apetito. At all times exercise a high standard of personal integrity and professional conduct.
