Job summary We are looking for an enthusiastic member of staff to manage the pre-analytical section of laboratories within the Pathology Department of Royal Blackburn Hospital and Burnley General Hospital. The department receives approximately 5,000 samples a day for analysis across the two sites. You will be an HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist, qualified to MSc level, who has extensive experience of working in a large NHS pathology setting. A flexible approach to working hours will be required as the Departmentprovides a 24/7/365 service. Main duties of the job This role is responsible for supervising the receipt and timely preparation for analysisof all samples received by the department, ensuring that the integrity of the samplesis maintained for onward processing by the Haematology, Biochemistry andMicrobiology laboratories.
