Job summary:
This is a new remote regional fundraiser role focusing on the Oxfordshire area working as part of a dynamic and driven supporter-focused Fundraising Team. This pivotal role is dedicated to a new growing area of fundraising for the charity. We have recently opened a charity shop in Headington, the first of three that we plan to have in Oxfordshire.
You’ll be leading on implementing our fundraising strategy, driving new business delivery to grow our support in Oxfordshire. It’s an exciting role stewarding our high-value supporters across the county, working with them and our local volunteers to inspire new support for Hospices of Hope, building an effective network of long-term relationships across the community from individuals to local businesses, to organisations and schools.
About the team:
The fundraising team at Hospices of Hope is a public-facing team raising over £1.2m every year, working with hundreds of supporters who raise money in aid of the Charity through a varied range of activities.
The post hold will join an experience Fundraising team at Hospices of Hope, a leading European hospice charity with an ambitious growth strategy.
About the Charity:
Hospices of Hope, has led the way in developing hospice care for terminally ill children and adults in South and East Europe over the past 34 years. Our services have already reached more than 80,000 of the most disadvantaged people in Europe and despite some progress in the reform of the healthcare systems, many patients continue to be left without proper care at the end of life. Hospices of Hope seeks to ensure that all our patients are given the best possible pain relief and holistic support for each day that they have left. In addition, we have provided more than 25,000 training sessions in hospice care for thousands of healthcare professionals from more than 19 countries in the region’. Hours:
22.5 hours per week – due to the nature of work the 22.5 hours weekly maybe required to be worked outside of 3 full working days e.g. 22.5 hours across Sunday to Saturday should there be events/meetings to attend etc.

Responsibilities and requirements:
· Proactively recruit supporters, volunteers and community organisations to create opportunities for fundraising within your region. Lead and inspire these networks in order to generate long term income and awareness for the charity
· Enable and empower supporters in their communities to maximise their fundraising passion to develop successful long term fundraising events and activities
· To monitor and report on income and expenditure and other KPI’s including volunteer recruitment, registrations etc.
· To work with the Fundraising Manager to manage the effective delivery of the regional fundraising strategy in an assigned geographical region
· To ensure the effective delivery of our supporter journey and to ensure we are going above and beyond for our supporters
· To be recognised within your area and develop relationships wherever you go
· Where appropriate, manage volunteers: recruiting, training and assigning daily tasks
· To advise third party fundraisers on all aspects of their fundraising including advice on organisation, marketing, charity law and fundraising guidelines for their events/fundraising activities. Supporting on-going fundraising, managing donor communication, ensuring donors are stewarded and thanked within service level agreements.
· To draft and submit tender proposals ensuring deadlines are met
· To devise, plan and deliver fundraising events in the region
· To help form and support a region fundraising committee
· Represent the Fundraising team as required; including attending events when appropriate. This will involve some out of hours work.
· To work with other teams in the Fundraising department across the charity to provide opportunities for our supporters to engage with the charity.

Line management responsibility:
This role has no formal line management but will be expected to support the recruitment and mentor and manage local and event day volunteers.
Budgetary responsibility:
Provide monthly commentary on income and expenditure for accounts and other areas as required.

To operate within the ethos and aims of Hospices of Hope, adhering to budget parameters and the Hospices of Hope’s confidentiality agreement.
Who you are:
You will demonstrate the following essential criteria for this role:
This exciting role would suit a positive, highly driven, self-motivated communicator who prides themselves on spotting and converting new opportunities with all types of community audiences. A track record of donor development, building strong relationships and new business experience (including achieving and exceeding targets) is key to focusing time and energy where it counts.
Specifically, you will have:
· Significant relevant fundraising experience (or sales-focused/target-driven role working with community audiences)
· Proven ability in driving new business opportunities (from prospecting to long-term support)
· Excellent relationship-manager and networker
· A passion for working towards ambitious targets and raising the local profile of Hospices of Hope
· A strategic approach to capitalise on opportunities and prioritise best ways to add value
· Keen ability to take ownership of your objectives and be a self-starter
· The ability to travel around the Oxfordshire region daily with a full, clean UK drivers’ licence and access to a car for frequent local/regional travel, as well as effective broadband internet access for homeworking
The ideal candidate will also have:
· Experience of home-based working with a regional/local community focus
· Database experience, analysing information and reporting on KPIs
· Knowledge of IOF guidelines ensuring all fundraising activities are compliant
· Previous experience of working with and getting the best from volunteers/local contact
* Proven significant experience working in a fundraising environment (or any sales-focused/target-driven environment)
* Proven experience of generating new business, from prospect identification to securing & retaining new support
* Creative, professional approach with the strategic ability to react quickly to capitalise on opportunities and adapt to different audiences
* Confident ability to work independently and remotely, plan and prioritise time effectively for best results & evaluate working practises for areas of improvement.
* Demonstrable collaborative way of working to share insights & add value to team, and increase effectiveness of regional fundraising strategy
* Full, clean, UK driving license with access to own car & willingness to travel around the Oxfordshire region regularly (as well as occasionally into central London), whilst working effectively from home.
* Skilled influencer with outstanding stakeholder management
* Experience of working with the general public in a customer facing role
* Excellent written and oral presentation skills & excellent communicator at all levels
* Good knowledge of using databases (Harlequin or other Fundraising CRM database desirable)
* A-levels or equivalent
* Experience and knowledge of the charity sector
* Involvement in, or experience of community-based fundraising (and ideally knowledge of the Oxfordshire region)
* Good knowledge of Charity legislation and the Charities Act
* Previous experience of working with volunteers
