Are you ready to join a forward-thinking team dedicated to help everyone share in York’s success and transform how we operate? York is renowned for its beautiful built heritage and outstanding culture, but did you know there is much more to York than how it looks? This is a city that continues to make a positive difference to the world around us, with a track record in innovation. Yet for many residents, sharing in York’s success is just out of reach and we want to change that. Are you ready to help us find new ways to work with partners and reduce health inequalities and tackle deprivation? In addition, the City of York Council has begun its journey to continuously improve, becoming an even more efficient and effective organisation, committed to listening and learning to residents and the workforce. This role provides a fantastic opportunity to join an innovative and supportive local authority. By developing strong relationships with partners in the public sector, across communities and with residents, whilst helping the team deliver an ambitious council plan and prepare for the opportunities ahead, you will make a significant and positive difference to the people who live and work in the city. No two days will be the same as you support the design of policies and strategies, work in close collaboration with partners, and play a key role in responding to key national and regional policy reforms. Hybrid working arrangements are available for this role. Each role at CYC is different and your working arrangements will be determined based on the requirements of the role and in collaboration with you and your needs as part of the recruitment process. Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team. This post is suitable as a job share opportunity. The Council is committed to investing in the talent and wellbeing of our staff and can offer a generous annual leave allowance, access to the Local Government Pension Scheme, comprehensive Health & Wellbeing initiatives and a reward package which recognises your contribution. We can offer flexible working practices, community engagement and volunteer activities and, as part of our commitment to you, promote continuous Learning & Development. In addition we also offer a growing range of discounts, rewards and savings.
