About the role
A specialist education provider in Blackburn seeks to appoint a English Teacher from September 2024 to the end of the academic year. The desired English Teacher will be responsible for teaching English to KS2, KS3 and GCSE level, alongside some enrichment and life skills based curricula across the school.
The successful teacher will have a passion for working in SEMH environments, alongside desirable experience of teaching English previously. Teachers at this setting contribute to school community activities and enrichment programmes. This is a part-time teaching role starting in September 2024 with permanent contracts being offered following a qualifying period.
About the school
The school is a specialist SEMH provider located in Blackburn (BB2) that work with secondary aged students from 8-16 years old. The school provides an individualised curriculum for students teaching GCSE and Functional Skills qualifications for students with barriers to learning and from underprivileged backgrounds, with SEND needs including moderate Autism, ADHD and Dyslexia.
The school provides a strong support staff team, meaning you will be working with at least one other member of staff within the classroom. Class sizes are no bigger than 8 students per group.
Requirements
To be considered for the role of English Teacher you will:
1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
2. Experience working with children and families, particularly in underprivileged communities.
3. Must be able to work full-time and be willing to undertake a full teaching role including planning, marking and assessments.

Salary
£84 to £120 per day
Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
