A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join our friendly practice as a Medical Records Summariser in the heart of the Lake District.
The ideal candidates will be forward thinking, self-motivated and reliable. We are prepared to invest in training for the right candidate.
This is for a fixed term contract, to be reviewed after 12 months.
Closing date December 8th 2024, with interviews taking place on Thursday 12th and Friday 13th December. Successful candidates will be notified by email.
Main duties of the job
Thepractice is moving towards all medical records being fully electronic and themain responsibilities of the post holder will be to check, summarise and code anyrelevant information from the patients paper Health Record into the practice EMISclinical computer system. Both paper and electronic notes will form a fullElectronic Health Record accurately coded in accordance with the practice notessummarising protocol, data quality and record keeping policy.

We are a well-established GP training practice of 6 GP Partners, 2 Salaried GPs, Nurse Prescriber, Practice Nurse, a Nurse Associate and a Health Care Assistant supported by Managers, Administrators and Receptionists who provide excellent clinical care to our patients.

Main Duties
1. Culland sort patient paper Health Record andletters in preparation for summarising
2. Scanand code relevant documents to Electronic Health Record
3. Producingan accurate summary of the patients medical history in an efficient and timelymanner
4. Ensurethat all patient information is accurately input to the practice clinicalsystem and clearly amend any inaccuracies in accordance with Good RecordsGuidance
5. Auditdata collection standards within the practice
6. Monitorthe progress of summarising against practice targets
7. Filingand retrieving paperwork as required
8. Monitoringreceipt of notes to the computer workflow system
9. Codeworkflow documents received either electronically or by mail when needed tocover the any absence of the Medical Records Data Administrator to keep theirwork up to date.
10. Codepatient records accurately and liaise with the Operational Manager and clinicalstaff in maximising QOF/QIS/PCN targets.
11. Prioritisework accordingly to ensure patient safety is paramount
12. Completeall mandatory training applicable to role

13. Previous proven job specific experience in an administration role or a Clinical role (at least 12months experience) Experience of working as part of a team

Qualifications

15. GCSE Grade 4 or above in Maths and English (or equivalent)

16. A Level or NVQ Administration Level 3 or equivalent experience IT qualification
