An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Health, Safety and Fire Department. We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated individual to join our team.
The post holder will be responsible for the provision of highly specialist knowledge and advice to the Health Board Committees in matters related to violence and aggression.
Be the lead specialist in providing guidance, training, advice, and instruction on violence and aggression issues across the Health Board.
The post holder will identify, advise, and facilitate the implementation of health and safety systems designed to prevent and mitigate the effects of violence and aggression on a Health Board-wide basis in accordance with legislative requirements, NHS requirements, national guidance, and good practice.
The post holder will develop and implement violence and aggression training programmes that meet the requirements of the Health Board and the All Wales Violence and Aggression Training Passport.
Ensure CTM meets employee training targets in accordance with the All Wales Passport. Support Directorates with training targets and provide detailed quarterly training reports for the Health Board Committees.
Develop specific Health Board policies and procedures based on nationwide guidance, legislation, and good practice in order to reduce the risk of violent incidents. This includes specific guidance for managers and employees regarding security issues, providing advice on pursuing legal sanctions and prosecutions against perpetrators of violence within the Health Board.
Ensure that violent incidents are systematically reviewed to enable lessons to be identified and shared across the organisation.
Undertake workplace assessments following violent incidents, giving specialist advice, assessing the environment, and identifying possible trigger factors that may have instigated aggression.
Interview patients, assessing and evaluating care plans and medication charts, and providing advice on specific patient management issues.
Chair specific subgroups such as the All Wales Steering Groups/Security Sub-Groups, tasked with developing training modules, policy, and risk assessments on issues related to violence and aggression and staff safety.
