Job Description
The post holder will be responsible for ensuring compliance with the Period Products (Free Provision) (Scotland) Act, ensuring that all council buildings, schools and public places comply with the requirements of the provision.
They will develop ways of ensuring that people across Moray can access period products in line with the duties outlined in the act. This will include on-going consultation, updating the website and participation in events e.g. Challenge Poverty, week to support and promote the scheme.
Responsibilities
To assist in the development and implementation of a scheme to improve access to free period products for individuals in Moray.
To assist in the development and implementation of a delivery model to ensure all agreed venues have free period products available.
Assist in the creation, maintenance and management of project documentation and data.
Assist with raising awareness and publication of the free period products scheme and help to tackle the stigma around the issue.
The Individual
Experience of project type work and working with communities.
4 SQA National 5 grades or equivalent at level 3 or above including English and Maths/Arithmetic *
Recognised qualification for word processing, e.g. ECDL or equivalent *
ICT literate and experienced in using Microsoft packages.
Ability to multi-task.
Full driving licence.
You will be expected to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Moray to meet the operational requirements of the Service. Due to the rural nature of Moray, this is normally undertaken by use of a car.
The post holder should be friendly, a team player and able to work independently with initiative within agreed parameters.
Ability to work in different offices depending on the needs of the service.
The post will require lifting and handling product plus ensuring they are properly stored.
Events may be indoors and or outdoors e.g. Challenge Poverty Week.
Temporary Post for 23 Months
