Senior HS&E Advisor – Environment Annesley What you will be doing: An opportunity has arisen for an Senior HS&E Advisor to join the team at Galliford Try. As Senior HS&E Advisor, you will support the Framework HS&E Manager on all health, safety, and environmental aspects by leading a team of HS&E Advisors to deliver a first-class service to our client(s). You will support and implement the HS&E strategy and systems to ensure that the delivery of our operations meets exemplary safety, health, and environmental standards. This role supports improvement and consistency in performance, ensuring compliance with management systems, and implementing continual improvement initiatives. Foster and support an inclusive, open, transparent, and collaborative environment to develop our HS&E culture, maturity, and behaviours to deliver HS&E excellence. Support the implementation of our HS&E strategy ensuring this is also embedded within the HS&E Advisors actions to drive continual improvement through the business addressing short-, medium-, and long-term growth and learning. Lead the HS&E Advisors, ensuring that they are actively engaged within their framework and are contributing to the successful delivery of projects by providing a professional advice and direction. Actively support the HS&E Advisors to ensure the promotion of our behavioural programme; ‘Challenging Beliefs, Affecting Behaviours’, so that it is consistent with our business leadership ambitions. Ensure our Business Management System has been correctly implemented, taking account of client requirements, to align with our overall strategy and driving performance through our processes and standards. Support the HS&E Advisors to provide technical and specialist guidance to line and site management in the implementation of HS&S programmes and initiatives. Engage and if required act as a deputy for the Framework HS&E Manager with internal and external key stakeholders, including client, supply chain partners, regulatory authorities, industry bodies, and colleagues, through the planning, preparing and delivery of project lifecycle. Provide HS&E input to operational teams from the planning stage through to completion of any works, through guidance, advice, and support to support proactive planning and implementation of HS&E standards. Takes appropriate action where our standards are not being met. Utilises HS&E performance KPIs to review performance and drives continual improvement within the HS&E Advisors and across projects and functions. Feeds back outputs for wider strategic review and consideration. Contributes to continual improvement to identify and unlock gains in HS&E performance and mitigate risk to GT that could occur through HS&E-related issues. Report to project management teams on a regular basis and attend meetings as required for and on behalf of the project team and Framework HS&E Manager, attends meetings as required. Escalate and report any HS&E concerns to the Framework HS&E Manager. Proactively collaborate with our teams on all HS&E matters which may affect our projects. About You: Aware of individual HS&E responsibilities and adheres to company HS&E policy and procedures. Self-disciplined, and able to evidence understanding of a well-structured, systematic approach to identify and analyse problems, understand risks, and implement appropriate solutions. Ideally experienced in supervising small teams in a similar sized HS&E function in either infrastructure, water, or similar regulated markets. Proven in HS&E management, systems, risks, and legal frameworks. Experienced in producing and delivering learning and development programmes. Experienced in delivering environmental role throughout the project lifecycle (prepare, design and construction). Knowledge of data analytics and reporting systems. Fully conversant with the Microsoft suite of packages. Relevant HS&E experience in a similar industry with supervisory experience. Holds the NEBOSH Construction or General Certificate. Full driving licence and willingness to travel across projects / contracts in region.
