Watleys End Road is a registered nursing home that provides high levels of care for people who have learning disabilities. Staff are skilled at supporting people who have a variety of profound and complex health needs. Registered nurses are on duty 24 hours a day. Each person we support has a tailored care plan and fun activities are arranged inside and outside of the home.
Situated in Winterbourne, the home is easily commutable from Bradley Stoke, Downend, Mangotsfield and Yate.
As a Support Worker, your responsibilities will include:
1. Assisting with decision-making and promoting independence.
2. Supporting people to develop and maintain contact with family and friends.
3. Encouraging positive self-image and maintaining health and wellbeing.
4. Providing access to the community, enabling the people we support to participate in sports clubs, social events, and creative endeavours.
The people living at Watleys End Road are looking to recruit staff to join their established team of Support Workers. The home provides a 24-hour service that supports 14 adults with learning disabilities and complex health needs.
We provide a 24-hour, 7-day per week service, so staff are expected to work flexibly across various shifts: 7.00-14.30, 13.30-21.00, 15.30-23.00, Waking night 21.00-07.00. A range of shift cover is required and weekends at least 2 to work each month.
The successful Support Worker will:
1. Have excellent communication skills.
2. Have a caring manner and a tolerant nature.
3. Ideally have experience, although this is not essential, as full training will be provided.
4. Be pro-active, reliable, and enthusiastic.
