Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen as Service Manager to lead the Early Intervention Team covering the South County and City areas of Derbyshire. We are looking for a motivated individual, with a passion for Mental Health who can provide compassionate leadership. Someone who will drive forward quality standards, provide operational management and leadership, with a visible presence to support the team.
The team is multi-disciplinary in nature, being made up of Nurses, OTs, Support Workers, Psychology, Medical colleagues and Administrators.
The role of Service Manager is to manage the daily functioning of the team, ensuring that safe and effective care is delivered to people within the locality utilising the early intervention model. It is a varied and busy position but equally rewarding.
The successful individual will receive regular supervision, peer support, access to action learning sets and development opportunities.
Main duties of the job
The main duties of the job include:
3. Day-to-day support of the teams.
4. Delivering regular and effective management supervision.
5. Engaging individuals in meaningful appraisals and developing personal development plans.
6. Management of performance within the team.
7. Working closely with the Clinical Lead to ensure safe and best practice is being delivered.
8. Supporting the well-being needs of team.
9. Implementing change and being part of quality improvement projects.
10. Managing employee relation issues such as sickness and performance management.
11. Working with local system partners to deliver place-based care.

Essential criteria
24. Degree/Diploma in Nursing or Occupational Therapy
25. ENB /Mentoring in Practice or professional equivalent
26. Current registration with the relevant professional body, eg NMC/HCPC
Desirable criteria
27. Management/Leadership Qualification
Experience

28. Recent and relevant experience of working as a Band 6 or equivalent in a mental health community setting
29. Experience of working with people who have severe and enduring needs
30. Experience of supervising junior staff and students
31. Ability to manage complex and sensitive information using well-developed motivational and negotiating skills, representing the nursing service in a variety of different situations
