We are seeking a skilled and reliable Bench Joiner to join our client. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in woodworking, with expertise in the creation and assembly of custom wood products such as doors, windows, staircases, furniture, and other wooden components. The Bench Joiner will work from technical drawings to produce high-quality, precise joinery, ensuring all items are built to specification and within deadlines. Key Responsibilities: Interpret technical drawings, plans, and specifications to create detailed joinery work. Cut, shape, and assemble wood components using hand tools, power tools, and machinery. Join wood pieces using appropriate techniques such as doweling, dovetailing, and mortise and tenon. Ensure all work is carried out to the highest standards of quality and accuracy. Carry out finishing work, including sanding, staining, painting, or varnishing wood surfaces as needed. Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to all health and safety regulations. Inspect finished products for quality, ensuring they meet design specifications and client expectations. Collaborate with other team members to ensure projects are completed on time. Manage and maintain tools and machinery, ensuring they are in good working order. Skills and Qualifications: Proven experience as a Bench Joiner Proficient in using both hand tools and power tools such as saws, drills, routers, and sanders. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work. Knowledge of wood types, joinery techniques, and finishing methods. Good physical fitness and ability to lift heavy materials when necessary. Familiarity with health and safety regulations in the workshop. Excellent time management and problem-solving skills. Desirable: NVQ or similar qualification in Joinery or Carpentry. Experience with CAD software or other design tools. Ability to work with a variety of wood types and finishes. INDWF
