The Role:
Coffee Masters supplies independent coffee shops, schools, colleges, pubs, restaurants, garden centres, tourist attractions and the public with coffee machines, coffee beans, teas and a wide range of related products. We are much more of a business partner than a supplier, continually looking for ways to help our customers grow their businesses through offering new ideas and providing ongoing training, advice and support. We strive to provide gold standard levels of customer service at all times.
We’ve undergone significant growth since our inception in 2014, to include a new office and warehouse facilities in Droitwich, and the addition of a specialised roastery in the Jewellery Quarter, Birmingham. We have many ambitious plans to explore new business opportunities and grow further, so the role of Business Development Manager will be critical to drive sales, performance, standards and customer satisfaction.
To be the ideal candidate for this role, you will have a proven track record of generating new business preferably within the hospitality sector. You will be able to fully convey the benefits of our product range, tailoring them to the specific needs of potential customers with ease. You will have first class communication skills with the ability to communicate, inspire and engage professionally with business owners with busy schedules. You will use these communication skills to pro-actively cultivate strong relationships with customers, from the first contact and thereafter and quickly gain the reputation of a reliable, enthusiastic and supportive member of our team.
Main responsibilities:
* Identify opportunities to grow Coffee Masters’ customer base for both new and existing customers.
* Identify and exploit direct sales channel opportunities.
* Ensure customers are appropriately supported, with reference to size and growth potential.
* Introduce new products to customers, providing or facilitating training and support where required.
* Establish positive relationships with customers via telephone, email and face-to-face, dealing with customer enquiries in a timely and professional manner.
* Work in partnership with the Managing Director, Senior Management Team and other team members to ensure all initiatives have a positive impact on sales growth and customer satisfaction.
* Actively participate in sales meetings, to include report generation for regular management meetings.
* Maintain knowledge of all Coffee Masters’ products and services.
* Maintain an awareness of industry trends and key competitor activity that can fundamentally influence consumers and purchasing behaviour.
* Engage in coffee industry activities to elevate the marketing and networking profile of Coffee Masters.
* Align with the culture of Coffee Masters, acting as an ambassador for the business at all times.
Knowledge, skills and experience required:
* An experienced sales / business development professional with a proven track record of account management, preferably within the hospitality sector.
* An appreciation of coffee and the variety of coffee-based drinks that are sold.
* Experience of being self-motivated with a strong ability to organise, prioritise, and multi-task in an often fast-paced environment.
* Excellent numeracy and literacy skills (GCSE Level 4 in English and Maths, or equivalent).
* A high attention to detail, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Experienced with using IT and the telephone as a necessary aspect of the job, with working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
* Experience of providing excellent customer service.
* Experience of office procedures and administration.
* A full, UK driving licence.
* An ability to demonstrate a positive attitude towards life.
* Reliable, enthusiastic and committed about the job, striving to go the extra mile to ensure all work is completed on time and to customer expectation.
* The candidate would ideally live within the West Midlands/Worcestershire area.
Hours of work:
Flexible to meet business needs but generally expected to be 36.5 hours per week (with ½ hour lunch), Monday to Thursday 9am-5pm, Friday 9am–4pm.
Salary: OTE £45-£50k
