Prisoner Escort Custody Services (PECS), operated by Serco across courts and vehicle bases throughout London, East & West England, transports over a significant number of custodies monthly. The core of our service is the Operational Control Centre Team (OCC), dedicated to ensuring custodies are transported safely, securely, and on schedule.

We offer job stability and pathways into supervisory or operational management roles. The centre operates 24/7, with shifts including nights and weekends on a rota basis, typically 4 days a week with flexible options to balance work and personal life.
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
Planning and scheduling vehicles for the safe transport of custodies, coordinating with crews and facilities such as prisons and courts, monitoring vehicles via IT systems, and responding to emergencies. You’ll need to adapt quickly to unforeseen challenges and ensure the secure delivery of custodies.
Candidate requirements:
Detail-oriented, highly organized, resilient, and excellent communicators are ideal. Experience in large-scale logistics or scheduling is preferred but not essential, as full training will be provided. Computer literacy and the ability to handle large data volumes are necessary.

* This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974; security clearance and Home Office approval are required.
