POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for identifying and implementing processes that improve safety, quality, and operating efficiency and support the business unit's objectives. It is also accountable for ensuring that the engineering and manufacturing process is carried out effectively and that the outcomes match the specifications.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Ensure compliance with the requirements of ISO 9001:2015, ISO 80079-34:2018 (ATEX, IECEx), Directive 94/9/EC (ATEX) and IECEx scheme.
* Establish and evolve formal QM and QA processes, ensuring that the team is using industry-accepted best practices.
* Identify relevant training needs regarding explosion protection methods and procedures, and execute them.
* Conduct internal and supplier audits.
* Work together with other departments to refine procedures and policies.
* Setting up and maintaining controls and documentation.
* Ensure the company’s quality system is constantly improved to ensure customer requirements are met.
* Create, implement, evaluate, and adjust the company’s quality policies, standards, and procedures per strategic plans.
* Utilize problem-solving techniques to determine root cause and validation of corrective actions.
* Act as the interface between Inspection and other internal departments.
* Manage inspection queue priorities.
* Support with customer FATs.
* Manage after-sales services (customer NCRs and field services).
* Become a Purge Product Expert (including inspection processes) – develop and execute test cases, scripts, plans, and procedures.
* Perform other tasks as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent degree.
* A minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in a quality role.
* Experience and understanding of international standards relevant to hazardous locations (NEC, CEC, ATEX, IECEx, etc.).
* Experience in product standards IEC 60079-0, -1, -2, -7, -11, -15, UL 508A, CSA 22.2 No. 14, etc.
* Experience in quality standards and procedures.
* ISO-9001:2015 audit experience is required.
* In-depth technical knowledge.
* Knowledge of engineering principles.
* Must have experience in dealing with regulating bodies for audits.
* Must possess hazardous area knowledge and understanding.
* Must be able to provide technical assistance to internal and external customers.
* Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Proficiency in office management software (MS Office).
* Willingness to travel – Up to 10%.
