Female Personal Assistant
A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF
I am 13 years old girl living with my Mam in the Pontyclun area. I like watching WWE wrestling or YouTube. I have Down's syndrome visual and hearing impairment.
I like joining in with my peers and always kind and caring with my friends. I can be a bit of a joker and can be distracting from the task in hand. I am verbal and can use Makaton signs. I am mobile on long distance I can use a wheelchair.
I love going out places to eat, my favourite foods are McDonalds, McFlurry or a KFC
I enjoy going swimming, going to the cinema, bowling, trampolining, animals. I also like my downtime and play on my Xbox or Switch- WWE wrestling Karate, Super Mario, Pokémon and Harry Potter.I also like playing arcade games especially zombie games.
I don’t like being told no, I can cry and be quite stubborn I don’t like to be treated like a baby.

Social inclusion and independence and to allow my mum to have some respite
PLACE OF WORK
In and around the area of Pontyclun, Nantgarw
HOURS OF WORK
6 hours (term time) with an additional 4 hours during school holidays
RATE OF PAY
£12.60 plus mileage paid at 0.40p where appropriate
TASKS INVOLVED
Making sure I am safe at all times
Making sure I cross the road safely as I have a visual impairment
To go swimming once I have gained more confidence
Personal care required as I need support with pulling my trousers up after using the bathroom and changing after swimming
Help with dressing and drying after swimming
TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED
Someone who has a bubbly personality but firm where appropriate
Someone with a sense of humour
Someone who is kind and empathetic,
Someone who holds a car licence and is over 25 for insurance purposes
ABOUT THE JOB
Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid monthly basis and appropriate holiday pay given. The post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS (Police) Check - which will need to be carried out before employment can commence. The cost of this will be met by the employer (Local Authority).The relevant checks will be carried out to ensure any applicant has the right to work in the UK
