The Senior Project Support Manager is responsible for supporting a wide range of project and product management activities to ensure the delivery of a projects and product objectives. You will work closely with the delivery and product managers, and wider product team, ensuring that DDaT’s agreed project management methods and standards are successfully implemented within the project.
In Enterprise services, we design and deliver secure solutions that enable the use of data, integration of services, and convergence of technology. We develop and deliver products that are resilient, performant, and cost-effective. Additionally, we provide professional capability by offering valuable advice and assurance for DDaT solutions. The Collaboration Team within Enterprise Services supplies technology platforms by designing, delivering, and supporting new and improved IT services across the Home Office.
As a Senior Project Support Manager within Enterprise Services, you will play a key role in the successful management and delivery of our project and product management work. You will have the opportunity to develop a broad range of effective delivery skills, including knowledge in a variety of PMO techniques and tools. You will also be responsible for managing resources for several projects within Enterprise Services related to the deployment of M365 products. This includes, but is not limited to, secure email gateways, external collaboration, and productivity tools.
To succeed in this role, you will be proactive and detail-oriented, with the ability to work collaboratively with key stakeholders to ensure project milestones are achieved. You will be logical in your thinking, with the ability to manage priorities and tight deadlines.
This role aligns to the Project Delivery profession, for Project Delivery professionals in Government.
Managing and maintaining project and product controls, ensuring tasks are carried out effectively and accurately by the project team, and reporting on these to the Project Manager, as well as developing relevant project reporting for stakeholders.
Ensuring the appropriate systems and tools are in place to enable the effective planning of the delivery, assisting the team in developing and maintaining plans.
Leading on identifying and deploying resources within the project or product delivery, providing information for effective Workforce Planning decision making to the Project / Product Manager, and Senior Leadership Team.
Managing the compliance of the delivery, ensuring it aligns to wider Security, Health & Safety, Inclusion & Diversity, Business Continuity and Business Planning guidelines.
Managing the overall project/product spend, contributing to the wider compilation of project budgets.
Line Management
Although this role currently has no line management duties, it may eventually include such responsibilities.
Travel
Some travel will be required for this role.
Work pattern
Due to the business requirements of this role, it is only available on a full-time basis. However, compressed hours are available.
You will also be expected to carry out the following day to day activities:
* Assisting the Project Manager and Team Lead by contributing to relevant aspects of the business requirements.
* Developing strong working relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to provide effective communication between the project and wider DDaT community.
* Undertaking any other grade appropriate duties within the scope of the grade to support the Project Manager/Team Lead and wider project team.
