Trials, Experiments & Technology (Development) EPURE C&I, Electrical Engineer AWE currently have a great opportunity for a C&I or Electrical Engineers to join our Operations team at EPURE, France, providing hands on technical support operating and maintaining high power X-ray machines used in hydrodynamics experiments. Location - Initially AWE Aldermaston followed by assignment to CEA Valduc 45 minutes outside of Dijon, France. Package: £29,640 - £40,000 (depending on your suitability, qualifications, and level of experience) Allowances - Individual allowance package provided on assignment to France. Let us introduce the role The ideal Candidates will have the following skills, experience, and behaviours: Bring Electrical engineering skills to the team, which could potentially include one or more of the following electrical distribution, control systems, safe systems of work, electrical regulations (UK and EU/France), safe working practices, fundamental understanding of electrical engineering principles, and the ability to understand/follow electrical drawings. or Bring C&I engineering skills to the team, which could potentially include one or more of the following Electrical distribution, functional safety, PLCs, machinery safety, intrinsic safety, BMS and specialist instrumentation Operational Technology. Providing hands on support for UK Trials at EPURE. Apply technical knowledge for engineered systems and structures. Identify and escalate business risk where applicable to plant and engineered systems. Make evidence-based engineering decisions to solve technical problems. Maintaining electrical systems on bespoke equipment, implementing required changes, and supporting fault finding activities. Contribute towards the development of Safe Systems of Work, Maintenance Instructions, safe working procedures, and design changes. Acquire and maintain the necessary competencies to perform this role. Identify areas of improvement for the business and support the future changes. Develop awareness of team, function, company processes and technical capabilities. Participate in collaborative working relationships as part of a team with our British and French colleagues (internal/external) including flexible working patterns. Commit to learning and maintaining French language skills. Whilst not to be considered a check list, candidates should be able to demonstrate some of the following: Proven ability to deliver engineering across similar manufacturing/research environment incorporating infrastructure facilities, plant, and equipment Experience of delivering facilities engineering and maintenance services across the life of an asset. You'll need to have the ability to work calmly and constructively in a priority changing environment and be able to manage your own workload.
