Description
We are looking for a dedicated Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing and managing SHE processes across AirTanker, ensuring compliance with all legislative and contractual requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead and maintain compliance with all applicable Health, Safety, and Environmental legislation.
2. Develop, implement, and oversee SHE management systems, directives, policies, and procedures.
3. Manage mandatory reporting for the Energy Saving Opportunity Scheme (ESOS) and The Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting Regulation (SECR).
4. Advise the Executive Leadership Team on setting environmental objectives.
5. Report on SPI progress to the Executive Team, Management, and SHE meetings.
6. Prepare the company for ISO accreditation and maintain it through active management of systems.
7. Manage Health surveillance and Safety Critical programmes.
8. Chair the monthly SHE Safety Action Group.
9. Establish and report on a system for timely reporting and investigation of safety and environmental events.
10. Lead RIDDOR reportable accident investigations and corrective actions.
11. Provide ongoing support and advice to managers on health, safety, and environmental topics.
12. Support a positive health and safety culture through continuous interaction and communication.
13. Identify and evaluate significant health and safety risks and environmental impacts.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
1. Relevant experience in Health & Safety or 3-5 years' experience in a similar role.
2. Membership of a professional body (e.g., IOSH, IEMA) at a minimum Graduate level.
3. NEBOSH Certificate in Environmental Management or IEMA equivalent.
4. ISO Auditing qualification (Internal or Lead Auditor) for ISO 14001, ISO 9001, or ISO 45001.
5. National Diploma for Occupational Health and Safety Management or working towards it.
6. Good interpersonal skills, ability to influence and willingness to work with people at all levels of the organisation.
7. High-level understanding of all aspects of Health, Safety & Environment, including legislation, audit handling, and management systems.
8. Experience leading and managing SHE Team members and other departmental representatives.
Desirable:
1. Chartered member of IOSH or working towards it.
2. Experience in an aerospace engineering and/or MOD environment.
