THE ROLE
Our orderlies are a key patient support role across the Theatre, PACU and Ward areas of the hospital.
The key tasks of an Orderly include:
* Assist with the timely transfer of patients between clinical areas.
* Cleaning bed spaces and making beds.
* Maintenance & receipting of stock & linen.
* Waste removal from the hospital area.
* Cleaning schedules with the support of the clinical nursing staff.
This can be a physically demanding role requiring the completion of tasks at a timely pace in what can be a critical environment.

There are no guaranteed hours as it is a Casual role. Working shifts for our orderlies are between the hours of 7:30 am – 9 pm, Monday to Friday. You will be covering planned holiday leave as well as last minute cover for sick leave and increase in patient flows.
ABOUT YOU
You prefer flexibility, having the time for other things in your life while still having a work family to be connected to.
As a casual, you must have the flexibility to work across Monday to Friday and the hours of 7:30 am – 9 pm at short notice.
It’s important that you are able to manage the physical requirements of the role, which include but are not limited to moving heavy beds with gentleness and also some repetitive tasks.
We are looking for someone who has good communication skills, the ability to show initiative and make smart decisions, but also understands that the role is primarily located within a specialist clinical recovery (post-operative) environment.
