A Chinese-American family in London is seeking a native-level Mandarin-speaking governess to care for their 4.5-year-old daughter. This position is available until August 2025. The family would like a governess to work on a rota schedule—1 week on/off with flexibility required during the summer. The candidate will provide support for the child’s morning routine, after-school activities, and overall well-being. The nanny/governess will prepare the little girl for her reception class in the mornings, including making breakfast and taking her to school when required, though this task is often handled by her father. After school, the role involves accompanying the child to various activities such as ballet, swimming, and piano, and ensuring she has appropriate snacks or stepping in when needed. While a chef prepares dinner, the nanny may need to assist occasionally. The nanny will also engage the child in creative activities, such as drawing, painting, arts and crafts, and reading, fostering her curiosity and artistic interests. Building a strong connection with the child is key, as she is a happy, loving, but strong-willed little girl. The Candidate: The ideal candidate will be loving, mature, positive, and energetic; with a musical disposition being an added bonus. Experience working with young children, a nurturing attitude, and the ability to maintain a balance between discipline and warmth are essential qualities. Candidates must have relevant childcare experience, excellent checkable references, and the ability to work in a live-in capacity. Flexibility, positivity, and the ability to build a connection with the child are essential. This is a rota position, and the candidate must be willing to travel with the family. Driving is not required. The Offer: Salary: £2000 per week One week on/off rota Option to extend the role in the USA at the end of the contract
