A rota pattern across seven days leading BBC Breakfast and the BBC News at One. Unsociable hours and shifts, including nights and weekends are a key part of your pattern.

Job Introduction
The BBC is looking for a creative broadcast journalist who is driven by ideas to produce content for BBC Breakfast and the BBC News at One.
We need a team player who can work under significant pressure and react to unfolding events, who has an understanding of BBC audiences and the ability to connect across all BBC platforms.
Main Responsibilities
* Book guests and writing briefs for BBC Breakfast and the BBC News at One.
* Exercise editorial judgment in developing story ideas and producing accurate and impartial journalism.
* Regularly contribute ideas for stories, segments, guests and story developments.
* Liaise closely with other team members and departments in the BBC to ensure output material is shared and best practices upheld.
* Take a lead within a team setting or on delivering a specific piece of journalism or project as appropriate.
* Tailor different news treatments for different audiences ensuring that the output reflects the audiences we serve.
* Prioritise and plan activities considering all relevant issues such as deadlines, staffing and resources available.
* Carry out duties in accordance with the BBC health and safety policy.
* Compliant knowledge of media law and OFCOM guidelines.
* May be required to present content on radio, TV or online, live or recorded.
* May include the production and presentation of programmes, live or recorded.
Are you the right candidate?
* A broad range of knowledge on subjects ranging from politics and business to entertainment news.
* An eye for creative storytelling, package production and guest booking.
* Regularly contribute ideas at key meetings and while working as part of a team or on location.
* Knowledge of working with live OBs and a good understanding of BBC Newsgathering systems.
* The ability to develop collaborative relationships within the wider BBC, working closely with colleagues in newsgathering and other programmes.
* Work across digital platforms for BBC News and understand the social media output for BBC Breakfast/BBC One.
* Working knowledge of and confidence in BBC’s Editorial guidelines.
* Comply with all BBC policies and complete all mandatory courses.
