Your Role:
Reporting directly to the CEO, you will be responsible for developing strong financial controls and internal processes within the Irish hub. Additionally, you will support the management team in the financial oversight of the companies.
The role will initially be based in Galway but will evolve to include responsibility for the financial management of both companies in Galway and Limerick, with time split accordingly between both sites.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Controlling and Accounting: Manage cost accounting, management accounting, group reporting, and play an active role in shaping the company's financial future.
2. Strategic and Operational Controlling: Develop and optimize controlling processes to achieve both operational efficiency and strategic goals.
3. Financial Planning and Budgeting: Lead the creation and monitoring of all financial planning, budgeting, and liquidity management processes to ensure a sound financial basis.
4. Cost Accounting Optimization: Develop innovative approaches to cost center, cost unit, and activity-based costing to increase transparency and efficiency.
5. Management Interaction: Report directly to the CEOs and work closely with the Finance Group team to support strategic decisions.
6. Economic Analyses and Recommendations: Create sound business analyses and calculations that provide management with valuable suggestions for action.
7. Team Leadership and Development: Lead and develop the finance team to foster a culture of excellence and collaboration.
8. Payroll and Revenue Queries: Ensure payroll processes are robust and efficiently managed.
9. Monthly Reporting: Oversee end-of-month reporting to the parent group.
10. Audits: Manage all financial audits, including year-end.
Requirements for the Role:
1. Strong technical accounting skills, ideally with group reporting experience.
2. Qualified Accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA) with a mid/senior level of experience post-qualification.
3. Several years of experience in a comparable position, ideally in a production company - practical experience enables you to recognize challenges and develop solutions quickly.
4. A proactive personality with a hands-on mentality - tackle challenges proactively and turn ideas into reality.
5. Enthusiasm for managing and developing employees - inspire your team and encourage their potential to achieve success together.
6. Business fluent in English. Fluency in French would be a plus.
7. Strong IT skills with advanced Excel and experience using various accounting software packages.
8. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise effectively with senior management - effective communication to the wider management team is critical to the implementation of improvements.
