Your primary focus will be to support end-to-end programme management, including governance, portfolio appraisal, benefit realisation, and post-implementation reviews.What will I be doing?nAssist the Head of Financial Planning and Analysis – Road in supporting the Finance and Transformation teams across investment and cost management.nDevelop efficient and effective benefits tracking methodology and analysis; track investment benefits through business-led driver analysis to provide forward confidence in portfolio returns.nSupport consolidation of benefits tracking into meaningful and concise analysis for Board level presentations.nSupport the prioritisation of annual/ad-hoc Capex spend across the Roadside and Customer Ops portfolio, aligned to the 5-year roadmap.nWork with the business and Finance Teams to support robust business casing with OKRs and financial benefits that can be tracked and embedded in divisional budgets.nAnalyse project/program performance to detect early deviations from schedule and cost/benefit plans and develop analysis and business models to better understand the AA’s cost base and support decision-making on resource allocation across the business.nDevelop the role across broader FP&A responsibilities as our investment governance capabilities become mature, including automation of reporting, desiging timelines, and supporting with strategic initiatives.nWhat do I need?nExperience in business planning, strategy, and business case development, with a background in B2C and B2B services being desirable. Strong financial analysis and Excel modelling skills, including the development of benefit tracking and analysis capabilities.nDesire to build knowledge of reporting enhancements through business intelligence and automation tools/practices (e.g., Power Query, Power BI). Proven ability to investigate, develop, and appraise solutions to commercial opportunities with high attention to detail.nStrong understanding and experience of investment, financial, and business controls. Ability to work at senior levels of the organisation to solve complex problems.nExcellent organisational and planning skills, with the ability to work independently.nOpen, honest, and collaborative style with a strong growth mindset. Relentless focus on accuracy, quality, and attention to detail. Flexible and able to balance multiple projects/priorities.nIntellectual curiosity and a passion for solving complex problems.
