Location: Eastern Police Investigation Centre (EPIC) in Portsmouth
Hours: 37.00 hours per week
Contract: Full-time and permanent

The Office of Police and Crime Commissioner (OPCC) supports the Police and Crime Commissioner serving Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. The OPCC provides a link between Hampshire & Isle Wight Constabulary (HIOWC) and the communities they serve through setting the budget and holding the Chief Constable to account in the delivery of an efficient and effective service.
The main function of the OPCC’s Facilities Management (FM) team is to maintain all Police estates across the county, keeping them safe and fit for purpose. The eastern area FM team are currently recruiting for a new Facilities Assistant, to assist in the delivery of day to day planned and reactive maintenance of estates.
About the Role
The eastern FM team cover the east of Hampshire, from Alton down to Park Gate. As Facilities Assistant, you will be a visible part of the team, engaging with internal and external stakeholders, both in-person and by telephone/email.
You will undertake any general administration tasks that the department requires, including but not limited to, issuing locker keys, distributing post, and placing stationary orders. There will also be a requirement for you to update building compliance records, record building defects, and provide information for audit purposes.
You will have access to our computer assisted facilities management (CAFM) system, where you will be required to monitor and flag incoming maintenance jobs to the Senior Facilities Officers for actioning.
This role is based onsite in our office at the Eastern Police Investigation Centre in Portsmouth. There is no scope for hybrid working and business travel is not a requirement.
About You – Essential Criteria
* Minimum of 1 year experience working in an administration role. Experience in a facilities role is desirable but not essential.
* Computer literate and confident in ability to learn new systems.
* Good time management skills, with the ability to work autonomously and to prioritise own workload.
* Good written and oral communication/interpersonal skills.
